Grateful ~ Day 6

Okay...so the posting every day thing, may not work as well as I had hoped! But, I will just pick up where I left off...

Today I am thankful for my freedom...

I am often guilty for taking this huge blessing for granted! Just think there is NO other country on the face of the earth that enjoys all the privileges our freedom provides!! We are so blessed! We do not have to worry about being put to death for being a Christian and we don't have to hide in basements to worship our Lord. WE ARE SO BLESSED!!

Today is election day, and like many others, the thoughts of "whew, this is almost over" have crossed my mind numerous times already! Although I am glad that we will no longer have our commercials filled with political ads and my phone will no longer be ringing off the hook with political polls and representatives, we can't let this day pass by without taking a moment to remember what this privilege has costs so many Americans!

Be thankful today for the opportunity, and blessing from God, to have a say in our nation's leadership. Take advantage of this special privilege and VOTE ~ if for no other reason, then because God expects us to be good stewards of all He has given us!!

Grateful ~ Day One

After thinking about what I am most thankful for today, this was certainly at the top of my list! This afternoon I received a very important and long awaited email...

I have been waiting, not so patiently, for this email since the beginning of October! This means that I have been accepted into the Cratis D. Williams Graduate School at ASU! This is the *almost* final step in completing my education! Anyone who has applied for a particular school or job knows the anticipation and anxiety related with waiting on an answer. Not only am I thankful for this email in itself, but I am thankful for the meaning behind it. It proves once again that My God is faithful and He is concerned with both the small and BIG steps in my life. What concerns me, concerns Him!! When there are places in my life filled frazzled-ness and anxiety, He is always there to offer *perfect peace*!! That is what I am thankful for today ~ God's unending peace, love and faithfulness shown to me through this little email!

30 Days of Gratitude!!

Considering its been nearly A YEAR since my last post, I thought now would be a good time to start ... again! I've noticed over the past few years people posting each day in November for one thing they are thankful for, and this year I will finally be one of them! Thinking about "what I'm grateful for" this morning has caused me to be completely overwhelmed by God's unending goodness to me!

As I began thinking about what to post on today my mind went a hundred different directions - which is not a bad thing, but I want my 30 days of gratefulness to be things I don't normally notice ~ things the Lord specifically points out to me each day! So ... some days, like today, I may not get to post until the end of the day, and on other days I may wake up and know exactly what it is that I am thankful for! I am very excited about posting on this topic, because as one of my friends pointed out, recalling what we are thankful for puts us in a spirit of thankfulness ~ it keeps us looking for those special blessings in our life ... instead of looking for the "negative" part of everything, which I so often do! So here we go! My "30 Days of Gratitude" and my journey to an improved, optimistic, and thankful self begins NOW!!!
